Howard N. Lee wants to thank everyone who presented and attended the first NC Education Summit hosted by the Howard N. Lee Institute in Greensboro, North Carolina September 24, 25 and 26. It was a wonderful opportunity to attend Sessions and to hear presentations from keynote speakers. The speakers were fabulous, the participants great and the dialogue important to engaging communities in education for the benefit of children.
We celebrated Education Legends Burley B. Mitchell Jr., and Howard E. Manning Jr., at the Monday night dinner Gala as well as other Champions of Education honored: Mrs. Stockton "Duna" Dickinson, Ms. Robyn S. Hadley/YESICAN Program, Dr. Ray Spain, and the North Carolina Splash Immersion Schools.
The Summit was a chance for participants to listen, learn and engage in conversation on a wide variety of topics and to hear from speakers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in more than 75 Sessions. Some of the Sessions included Charter Schools, Courtroom to Classroom, Business Voices, and Pathways to Workforce.
